City History Books
The City has assisted in the publishing of two Westlake Village history books. Both of these books can be purchased at City Hall.
The City of Westlake Village: A History written by former City Councilmember James B. Henderson.
Published in 2002, Mr. Henderson's book provides a detailed look into efforts to incorporate the City in 1981 and a year by year chronicle of City progress from 1981 - 2001.

Westlake Village: A City in the Country Written by City Historian Ray Prouty
Published in 2013, this softcover book provides in depth background on the general community inlcuding early settlers, geology, wildlife, and wildflowers.

City Archives
The City is undertaking the process of scanning and digitizing its historical archives. The historical archives begin halfway down the page under the letter "H". These archives are free and open to the public for research, inquiries, and entertainment purposes.
