Library Services
Library
services are provided under contract with the County of Los Angeles
Public Library system. The Westlake Village Library was opened
in February 2002 and is 10,250 square feet in size. The Library houses
56,972 volumes, 5,427 audio-visual materials, provides seating for
100 library patrons, features a young
adult resource center, several group
study rooms, and a 420 square foot area with 12 seats dedicated
to electronic work stations. The Westlake Village Library also features
a 350 square foot Bookstore, operated exclusively by the Friends of
the Westlake Village Library.

Friends of the Library Nook
The Book Nook is operated by the "Friends of the Library" a non-profit organization whose purpose is to support the library through fund-raising, cultural programs, community awareness and volunteer support. All activities help ensure that the library continues to meet the needs of the community.

Children's Library Programs
Children's Story Time features books,
flannel stories and crafts for children between 4 and 7 years of age.
Terrific Tots Story Time features
stories, rhymes and our Library Tots band. It is appropriate for children between 2 and
3 years of age.
Music and Motion is a fun program with songs and movement featuring the musical talents of Linnea. Appropriate for children between 2 and 3 years of age.

Young Adults Resource Center
This is a dedicated study room which allows for group study, resources for the latest classroom
assignments, access to word processors and the internet, and a collection of books geared
to the middle and high school level students. Programs include the following:

A Library Aide is available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 3:00 -
7:00 p.m. and Fridays from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., dedicated to assisting library patrons utilizing
this room.
