[ARCHIVED] Proposed Housing Element Update

On February 12, 2014, the City Council will hold a public hearing to review a proposed update to the City’s General Plan Housing Element. The Housing Element is a state required document that reflects the City’s goals and policies with regard to housing. The proposed update will incorporate relatively minor changes with regard to the City’s housing policy and identify potential locations for future residential development within the City. As the future public hearing process for the draft Business Park Specific Plan may include the discussions regarding these potential locations, the Housing Element will likely be updated again to reflect the final decision of the City Council once the Specific Plan is complete.

The public hearing will be held at 6:30 pm in the City Council chambers at 31200 Oak Crest Drive. All members of the public are invited to attend and comment on this project. Any questions may be directed to Scott Wolfe, Planning Director, at 818-706-1613, or by email at

The City recently produced a Video Newsletter segment regarding the proposed Housing Element update. See the link below to watch the video.
