The Woolsey Fire is at 70,000 acres with no containment. All evacuations remain in place and there are no immediate plans by fire officials to lift any of them. However, fire officials are currently assessing the situation and developing plans and setting trigger points to open areas as it becomes safe to allow residents to return to their homes. In addition to fire safety concerns, there are multiple power lines down in several areas of the region as well as other infrastructure issues dealing with roads, water, gas lines, etc. Once fire officials have those issues addressed, the City of Westlake Village will be informed if there is a change in the current mandatory evacuation status. Please realize that this will not be a quick process, and the City of Westlake Village appreciates residents’ patience and understanding.
