Fourth of July Parade
July 4, 2021 Drive-thru parade
Join us for a 4th of July Drive-Thru Event at Berniece Bennett Park! Decorate your vehicle and drive-thru the parking lot anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. noon to receive free goodie bags, mini flags, glow sticks, temporary tattoos, and more!
Say hello to your Councilmembers and check out Uncle Sam the Stilts Man! Stop at our free photo-op station for a commemorative family photo, and yes, there is a Car Decorating Contest! We’ll take a picture of your car, and post the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners to our Facebook page by the end of the day!
Cars are encouraged to queue up along Village Center Road before turning right into the Berniece Bennett Park parking lot located at 31800 Village Center Road. This event will follow the L.A. County Public Health Guidelines, and so we must ask that all participants remain in their vehicles while driving through the event, especially for traffic safety reasons.
For more information, please contact City Hall at (818) 706-1613.
Annual 4th of July Parade History
This classic 4th of July hometown parade has been occurring since 1969 in the City of Westlake Village. Originating from a concept created by the Westlake Junior Women’s Club, the parade has been operated by the City since 2009.
Residents decorate their bicycles, strollers, scooters, wagons, and pets to march the 4-block route to Berniece Bennett Park from the North Ranch Lakeview Canyon Properties, LLC (formerly the Westlake Village Hospital location). Once at the park, residents can partake in games, bouncers, music, arts and crafts, and free popsicles and water. Patriotic entertainers, flag retirement ceremonies, musicians, and pancake breakfasts have been special featured activities throughout the years.
