Annual 4th of July Parade History

This classic 4th of July hometown parade has been occurring since 1969 in the City of Weold parade look.JPGstlake Village. Originating from a concept created by the Westlake Junior Women’s Club, the parade has been operated by the City since 2009.

Residents decorate their bicycles, strollers, scooters, wagons, and pets to march the 4-block route to Berniece Bennett Park from the North Ranch Lakeview Canyon Properties, LLC (formerly the Westlake Village Hospital location). Once at the park, residents can partake in games, bouncers, music, arts and crafts, and free popsicles and water. Patriotic entertainers, flag retirement ceremonies, musicians, and pancake breakfasts have been special featured activities throughout the years.
